How Patience Can Stimulate Success

Implementing A Discipline That Can Get You What You Want

Of all the disciplines in the world (sales, marketing, product creation, education, networking, etc), patience is the most pertinent to achieve them all.  If you have something that you want, patience is a great exercise to ensure that you meet your target.  As a result of impatience, many people settle for what they can achieve instantly, but if you want what you want, patience can enable you.

Sages say, “A patient dog eats the fattest bone”. In a world where we have instant coffee, fast food, instant noodles and instant everything, the very act and virtue of patience is almost completely relegated to the background. Today when we talk about being smart, the average mind assumes that they must be good at cutting corners. You cannot gain wisdom without the patience to endure the process.  Learning requires the discipline of consuming information and experience; regardless of length or hardship.  Patience is still a virtue that the wise trade.

Harriet Tubman Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world

Mr. Kumar is a limousine company owner from New York City.  He desires to diversify his streams of income, so he attends seminars and purchases at-home study programs.  Of the 35+ seminars that Mr. Kumar has attended, he has not stayed for one entire event.  He says, “Time is money and they are distributing the information too slow!  Besides, what they are teaching you to do is time-consuming and I already make good money”.  As a result, Mr. Kumar has not diversified his investments; neither does he know how to do anything other than run his limousine business.

Be patient for your opportunity

Every good thing is worth waiting for. Take the time to wait for your opportunities. Yes opportunities abound everywhere but there is one that fits your particular formation; your chemistry. Success is preparation mixed with opportunities. There are some things that you are particularly scripted for, and when you do them, even for the first time, it looks like you have been doing it all the while. You were crafted for success by your Maker!  Prepare patiently for such opportunities because they will come.

Be familiar with your vision

I will know how much you are passionate and familiar with your call and purpose in life if when I wake you up in the very deep of the night, you still without thinking twice tell me what that purpose is. Do you know enough of your ision? What has God called you to do? Can you state it in one sentence? Otherwise, you don’t know it as yet. Find out all you need to know about your vision. For knowledge gives power to your vision. Do not settle for less than what God has for you.

I remember a time in my life when things seemed not to be going the way I wanted them; when everything I touched seemed not to be working, and people that I love were leaving my life.  Everybody around me wanted me to belong and get along with life, then I decided on a foolish path; I settled for the less. Inferiority complex came on me and I went for what I know is not God’s best for me. You don’t have to make that mistake. If it means for you to wait another five years to get the best of God; wait!  It will pay off in the long run. I have seen people who married late because they wanted the best and would not settle for less. Others of their age group had been married and divorced; some married multiple times, and they remained steadily waiting for God’s best.  Let me tell you, their patience paid off!  They got exactly what they wanted!  Patience is key to getting God’s best and not jumping on the first thing passing.
